The store caters to builders, designers, architects and contractors, as well as to homeowners and DIYers. Madrona 12 is a collection of 4-Star Built Green townhomes and Live/Work Lofts in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. The community features a variety of floor plans sure to meet your needs. Each home is designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and functional with great attention to detail.
A modernized small home that was originally built as a carriage house. Heated floors, a woodworking nook, a place for the band to practice, plus a spiral staircase and the clients were able to make their mark with salvaged and repurposed beams as unique, featured flooring. That’s just the beginning...

This home was at the end of its useful life, the solution is a 2 story addition and a deep-green remodel. As the home is situated at the back of the lot, its big front yard provided the opportunity to expand and still preserve some nice proportions for both the new space and the yard.

This petite backyard cottage has been created from a former garage, which was a super efficient way to keep construction costs down for a one-bedroom tiny home. The project team worked with a highly involved and creative homeowner to maximize the green and cozy features on a tight budget.

This modern net-zero-energy home includes a DADU with an interior spiral staircase. Toilets are wall hung for easy cleaning and a plumbing manifold provides hot water promptly. PV solar panels on the SIPs roof generate electricity and energy usage is tracked on the owners’ phones using eGauge.
The Roost is a co-living community designed and developed by Neiman Taber Architects, one of Seattle’s leading innovators in urban housing. The project was designed from the ground up as live-work housing, focused on goals of affordability, livability, community, support for the Arts and sustainability.

Annie’s Artist Studio is located in a beautiful historic building that has been restored to include durable materials, energy-efficient LED lighting, a "cool" roof for to improve energy efficiency and energy efficient appliances. The building also makes use of natural day light for lighting the majority of the building.

Tour participants come hang out , drink a juice or smoothie, eat a healthy snack...and if desired may try out the newest trend in yoga, Yoga Trapeze. Re-enter your tour feeling refreshed.
Our business and residential site is a net zero property. We have 4 different solar systems installed, including 2 battery back-up systems that supply power in case of an outage. We also have Solar Hot Water and a Solar Heated Swimming Pool. The solar systems vary, all 4 are different, but two of the systems were 2nd hand or “rescued”. The site also features a solar powered portable generator that is on a 20’ trailer, and a home built electric car.
This sweet above-garage, backyard cottage is a great example of the kind of gentle infill that can help Olympia meet its housing needs. Accessory dwelling units (ADUs) like this 400 sq ft studio apartment add smaller and often more affordable housing options in established neighborhoods. It was designed by the owners with help from the contractor.
Escape to an era gone by with amazing craft cocktails and bites in a sophisticated atmosphere. We compost all food scraps and creatively reusing typical waste products. All of our equipment is energy efficient including high efficiency toilets and energy efficient light bulbs and all of our local partners are sustainable.

This family farm was purchased in 2014 with pre-approval for construction of 50 homes and townhomes. Rather than liquidate its natural resources through traditional residential development, the land was preserved using a conservation easement restricting future development to one home, working lands, and preserving semi-urban forest land.
